We open the door to Mexico

Entrada helped us a lot through the first three to five years, which are very difficult as far as getting acquainted with everything in a new country. Over time, when we grew and gained much more experience, we got to a much closer, true partnership from both sides, where both can rely on each other.

The ongoing availability of good people, lower labor costs and open trade agreements are all advantages to operating in Guanajuato.

With our operations firmly located in Celaya, we are now well positioned in the heart of this fast-growing manufacturing region to efficiently service our existing clients and move forward with our expansion plans down the road.

We had a US customer under immense price pressure with their product and they were looking at all their suppliers for ways to lower cost. They told us ‘If you can’t figure out a way to cut your cost by 20% to 30%, then we’re moving to a different supplier and you’re going to lose our business.’ So we went into immediate action at that point and within six months of that conversation, we had the facility up and running in Zacatecas with Entrada Group. We were forced into it but, in hindsight, it was one of the best decisions we ever made.

The workers in Mexico are hungry to grow and learn. The biggest benefit is the clients now have the opportunity to visit Central Mexico in a few hours to inspect the site themselves and apply their stamp of approval. The partnership with Entrada puts Eastek in a position to say “yes” to whatever clients may need, as well as the flexibility to grow and adapt in future.

Other large companies entering Mexico has opened some doors to Telamon to supply product which they may still be purchasing abroad. A lot of our customers have put a footprint closer to our facility within Entrada’s Campus and that has helped us get in to broaden our portfolio and work with new companies that we haven’t in the past.
